We are specially trained to get your acne controlled with a strict process and products. We carry Face Reality Acne products that are specifically designed for acne troubled skin.
How much does it cost?
Your initial visit is $30 for a consultation. The initial investment on products is between $130-$170. Some products are smaller and will require you to repurchase 3-4 weeks but most will last about 8-12 weeks. Treatments are $65 and you will do 6-8 treatments every 2 weeks.
When can I start?
We can get you started on products at your consultation. You must be off any acne medications for two weeks before beginning any active products. We can still get you started at your consultation and will go over when to begin each product. Anyone on Accutane must wait 6 months.
What is the consultation for?
We will go into more detail about what is needed from you and what you expect from us. We will determine the type of acne you have and anything you will need to treat. We will take pictures to track our progress (Don’t worry, we will never share any pictures without consent!). We will do a sensitivity test to determine the strengths of products you will need. We will go over all the things you have tried and medical histories. We ask that you bring in any products that you currently use so we can go over ingredients and decide what we can start with and when. You will get detailed instructions on what to do at home as well as many handouts for quick reference when you have questions about our plan to get you clear. We want to make sure you understand and remember everything we go over at the consultation since it can be overwhelming with the amount of information you will receive.
What am I getting myself into?
This program is designed to get you clear and get you clear fast. It requires commitment at home. You will go over lifestyle changes, medications, diet and products during your consultation. This program only works when you are committed to doing every step twice a day. The first two weeks involve a little extra time in the evenings to allow your skin to get used to products so you won’t become irritated. Many over the counter or prescription products can cause your skin to become irritated and many people quit using them. We have a specially designed system to stop that from happening. After the first two weeks your regimen should take roughly 3-5 minutes in the morning and evening.
Treatments will be performed every two weeks. When you come in we will do a cleanse, take pictures to track our progress, apply a peel solution or a hydrating enzyme, do a few extractions if needed and apply finishing products. Depending on your needs other modalities may be used. These appointments usually take about 30 minutes and slightly longer if we are treating other areas besides the face. After your treatment you can not get your face wet for 12 hours, you can not workout or get sweaty and you can not go in direct sunlight. We will work with you to plan around other engagements. During this time we will go over any issues you are having and you will be getting directions on your products for the next two weeks.
If time and budget restrict you from purchasing products and getting treatments we can skip the treatments. We require you to still remain in contact with us for your next directions. We will change what you are doing every two weeks to really force you into clear skin. This does not require you to purchase new products every two weeks but we will be making changes to your routine.
Do I need to use your products?
Yes! We do not allow our acne clients to use anything other than our products. By doing this we can target problems of getting clear must easier. We will even be going over what kind of hair and makeup products you can and can’t use. Those are not things we sell but you will be given a list of ingredients that can clog pores and you will have to make the necessary changes.
Do you work with a doctor?
We do not have a doctor on staff. Ali is a licensed esthetician in the state of Maryland with many added certifications. She has studied Face Reality and passed the required course and tests to sell the products. We use tried and true products that you need a license to sell but do not use prescriptions.
